结束外事访问的美国空军一号返程途中，突然遭到不明导弹的袭击。包藏祸心的保镖（雷·史蒂文森 Ray Stevenson 饰）安排总统（塞缪尔·杰克逊 Samuel L. 故事灵感来自讲述阿曼达·诺克斯案件(被控谋杀英国室友)的小说《Angel Face》。片中，女记者西蒙妮和男纪录片导演托马斯追踪一宗谋杀案，故事将着重于两人的心理变化。导演迈克尔·温特伯顿把男主角类比但丁，称本片是现代版《神曲》。
